Welcome from Rev. Elizabeth

Pastor Elizabeth with husband Bart Cookus

We have been serving God and this community for more than 60 years. Wesley Grove’s history and legacy have been — and continue to be — inextricably linked to making and developing disciples of Christ to transform our community into the economy of God. Today, as a family-centered church, we are active, diverse, and engaged to ensure our Christian practice is never without mercy, love, forgiveness, and justice.

Our doors are open; our hearts are open; our minds are open to those seeking to know and understand more about the Christian Way. Each Sunday morning you can expect a welcoming congregation prepared to learn, teach, and share their knowledge of God and Christ. You can expect each sermon to challenge you to grow in your discipleship and witness, give you new insights, and help you make sense of our complex world. Our community life here at Wesley Grove is rooted in the belief that the Living Spirit of God is actively shaping our lives.

We are tremendously pleased that you have been led to explore our website. We trust you will find these pages useful and informative. Our intent is to provide a true glimpse about who we are as a community alive in Spirit and rooted in Christ, while serving God. No matter who you are or where you are along life’s journey, we invite you to walk with us on the Road to Christian Perfection. Welcome to your spiritual home.

About Rev. Elizabeth

Pastor Elizabeth

Rev. Elizabeth LeMaster came to Wesley Grove UMC on July 1, 2019. Rev. Elizabeth is passionate about connecting people first with God, and then with a community of faith. It is important for her that all people know and experience the unconditional love of God. Rev. Elizabeth’s guiding scripture is Matthew 25:40 where Jesus proclaims, “Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me.” Guided by Jesus’ words, Rev. Elizabeth strives to connect the church with the needs of the community. She is drawn to social justice issues and finding ways for the church to be part of the conversation and part of the solution .

Rev. Elizabeth holds a Master of Divinity degree from Wesley Theological Seminary and is currently pursuing a Doctor of Ministry in Church Leadership.

Rev. Elizabeth is married to Bart Cookus and together they have four furbabies: Miley (Yorkshire Terrier), Jake (Corgi), Will Wheaton (Terrier Mix), and Ducky (Australian Shepherd/Poodle Mix). Rev. Elizabeth loves dogs and The Big Bang Theory, and is an avid Oriole’s fan.
